Hi! Welcome! We're so excited you're here!
Firstly, we are so excited to get married. Secondly, we're so excited for you to join us.
While we do have to admit the idea of eloping did sound incredibly appealing, we just couldn't imagine doing this without our favourite people around us. So we've planned one hell of a party to kick off married life.
Our venue, Scrub Hill is incredibly cool, the ceremony will be in an old converted church, the cocktail hour hopefully in the gardens (or the old Sunday school) and dinner and dancing in the glass marquee! The food will be so delicious, we have the team from the Surly Goat (in Hepburn), which we of course taste tested many months ago. For our musician, Gaia from Little Wolf Entertainment, we actually confirmed with her before booking the venue date after falling in love with her music skills. She will be singing and playing the electric guitar early on, and then DJ-ing later! Finally our photographer talented Jen will be capturing it all on a film camera, so be on your best behaviour, we cant photoshop anything out!
We can't wait to share this day with you. And finally, thank you Tinder.
Ceremony will commence at 3:30pm sharp so please be sure to arrive at 3:00pm to avoid walking down the aisle the same time as the bride.
Scrub Hill is located at 1713 Daylesford-Ballarat Rd, Newlyn, VIC, 3364.
It is roughly 15 minutes from Daylesford, 10 from Creswick and 20 from Ballarat.
Weather dependent, we are planning on prosseco and dancing outside.
Formal dress code. If you really want to match the vibe, think Autumn colours, but you do you.
No white dresses…obviously.
Depending on numbers and availability we are hoping to organise transport to and from the wedding. If you are thinking you would like to use group transport please let us know in your RSVP but note nothing has been locked in at this stage, we will contact you.
Ubers and taxi's between Daylesford/Ballarat/Creswick and SH are available in very limited numbers and require pre-booking.
There is parking at the venue, note it is on grass.
We will be staying at a house in Daylesford, and invite you to make a nice weekend out of it too!
Be sure to check out Dayget and Discover Daylesford before booking in an airbnb as they are quite often cheaper! It will be school holidays so make sure to get in early if you plan on staying in the area. You didn't ask but, the best coffee in the area is either Cliffy's in Daylesford, Lotte in Hepburn or Cobb’s in Brat.
Details to come, venue somewhere in Daylesford area, please indicate if you will be attending in the RSVP and we will let you know! Children welcome!
We are so thankful that you are taking a day off work and travelling to celebrate us, so please your presence really is enough! However if you insist, a contribution to our honeymoon fund is so very appreciated!
If your name is written on the envelope we sent the invitation in, you’re in.
Otherwise sorry! All are welcome to our recovery lunch on Saturday.
No kids, take the night off.
Our incredible photographer Jen is capturing the day on a film camera, this means if your phone is in the way trying to take your own photos, it will ruin a shot we can't get back. So please, no photos during the ceremony.
“Wow Marnie, these illustrations are incredible, you're so talented” Ha! No! Full credit to Aaron's incredibly talented sister Britt who illustrated Scrub Hill, who stepped in after the graphic designer didn't want to design her own wedding invitations. Even the font on our invitations is Aaron's hand handwriting!
Special thank you to Wayne for sorting out a URL and to Leigh for building our website!
